Help me Pick out my Glasses

I am pretty sure I'm going to be getting glasses. I have avoided vision correction for 35 years, so that's not half bad. In the last couple of years, I've noticed my eyes getting worse. I did pass my eye exam when I got my driver's license after we moved here less than two years ago. But in the last couple of months, it's gotten decidedly worse. Since trying to look at glasses and decide what I like is next to impossible with two active children around, I made my friend come with me last night before our girls' night out. And I made her take pictures. Really, a hospitality basket and a guest journal have nothing on that kind of warm welcome. . . .

So, I'm allowing you to vote! Even all of you lurkers out there. You don't have to log in, you don't have to identify yourself, just vote on the glasses you like best. If you'd like to explain your vote, or identify a close second, just do so in the comments.

A: rectangular glasses, black wire on top, rimless on bottom

B: rimless, sided shape

C: half oval, no rim on bottom, reddish/coppery wire rim on top

D: tortoise shell

A: Rectangle, black rim top, rimless bottom B: Rimless multi-sided shape
C: Half oval, coppery rim top, rimless bottom D: Tortoise Shell

I'll leave this up for a week. You can vote one time.

Okay I voted for A but you can't go wrong with D either---tortoise shell is always in style.

I need new specs too. After dropping $300 for my 3 year old's glasses my old ones will have to do for a little bit longer.

I saw an AWESOME pair of BCBG Maxawhatever at the eye docs that were to die for!

I voted for D, but A is nice also. I just think D made you look a bit younger and hipper =))) And they are kind of like the black ones I have....

You look beautiful anyone you chose.

I'm having to do the same thing! I wear contacts occassionaly, but thought I should get glasses especially for seeing road signs! I'm getting two pairs. One hippy style like D whose lense gets darker in the sun, so they'll double as sunglasses and one back rimmed wire one.

I voted for D. You look younger in them. I think you need some sort of "frame."

Not that the others made you look like a granny, or anything...

Oooh--this is fun. Thanks for your votes and the "whys," too. Several of the "hip framed" ones were too wide for my face. Even one that we had liked in store (with black frames), looked bad when we got home and were looking.

I voted for D, it compliments the color of your hair. I bet people in the store were wondering why you were taking all these pictures! LOL!

I think the contrast was nice (I'm a "D" voter). My daughter helped me decide--does that count as two votes, then? Interesting, our second choice was also A.

Too cute! See blogging is not only fun and educational, but it's a decision-making tool :).

On a side note, tell your daughter YOU GO GIRL!!! GREAT progress for a 3rd grader, 1000 pages?! If y'all lived closer, and she was older, I think we'd have kindred daughters perhaps. Then again, I have no idea WHERE you live, lol (if it says on your profile, can't remember at the moment).

That was fun! I voted for D. You should do polls all the time!

D is fine...but I think A suits your face the best.

Vote for A...vote for A!

By the way...I have never worn eye correction either but am starting to get that middle age arm stretch thing happening whenever I read...one eye is worse than the other, though. Time to get my eyes checked again...cool bifocals may be in my near future!

I voted for the tortoise shell. Cute!
'Course that could be because that is the kind I wear =)

I voted for B but D was my second choice. My daughter just got a pair of glasses like them but I worry that they'll be going out of style soon once the whole seventies thing is past. I could be wrong and they do look nice on you.

I voted for D. I like how they look on you.

I voted for the tortoise shell as well, but I'm biased - for some reason I really like tortoise shell glasses.

I'm not going to vote. Too much pressure! I feel like I have to see them in real life.

I think the poll idea is great though. I didn't even know you could do that!

I voted for B, but what we really need to work on is the hair style. Dad

I voted for C. I'm personally very much against D but mainly because those are almost the exact glasses that I've had for about 4 years. I've decided the color is too heavy for my coloring and I think the same might be true for you. And to think I really wanted black to begin with. :o) I'm getting ready to replace them w/ another set of tortoise shell ones that are lighter in color. Mine are a bit more oval than yours but other than that -- the same. If you can wait about a month, maybe I can send you my old frames. ;) And yes, I'm back from our jaunt through 16 states and have already talked my husband into coming your way next summer.

How Fun!

What a great idea... You look so wonderful in all of them it is hard to decide. But I like C the best if you want subtle and D of course if you want fun and hip.

I hope you'll tell us what you decide!

I voted for B, but I also really like D!

Hi Seester ~ I voted for D. Ignore Dad - who has time to do hair all the time! Love you! I'll call you soon!
