1978

I recently uncovered this picture of myself, taken in the fall of 1978 when I was in 3rd grade.

Well, it speaks volumes in and of itself. But I just got back Amanda's third grade pictures, and I realized that in when both of these pictures were taken, we were each exactly eight years old.

Notice her closed-lipped smile. Perhaps a little discretion in those awkward years is a good thing.

Cute pictures, both of you. I turned 2 in 1978. =)

You're both adorable!

You both look so sweet! My daughter does the same closed-lip smile in school photos. (and I was 6 in 1978.)

How adorable! I should try and find my old school photos and compare them to my girls!

Adorable - guess it wouldn't be too polite to say I was born in Sept. 1978 --- huh?!?! :)

Love both of the pictures! Amanda's such a pretty girl... and now I see that you were pretty cute, yourself, way back in 3rd grade. :)

Camden does these close-mouthed non-smiles for school pictures now; he says he's trying to look "older." He comes across as very, very serious.

This was precious - if she wants to know what she'll look like a few years down the road, she can take a long hard look at you. Very sweet.

Very sweet. What a neat thing to do, this comparison. Two very cute little girls. And I was pregnant in 1978!

Precious! Do you really have red hair?

I was getting married in 1978, sooooo, I guess I'd better skidaddle... :~)

I'm glad y'all liked the pics!

E-mom asked about my hair--it's not red, and wasn't really red in that picture, but I did notice that. It's a combination of an OLD picture fading somewhat, and yes, I do have some auburn highlights.

What a fun idea! And should I confess I was 10 in 1978? Too late, just did!
