What I'm Reading

I had mentioned that I wanted to publish a list of some of the books that I hope to read in 2007. I have also been toying with the idea of setting up an amazon store--mostly as a way to provide links to books that I frequently recommend or that I love, and secondly as a way to remind people who do enjoy my book-chat that if you are in the market to purchase a book anyway, that I would love it if you purchased it through my links.

So, HERE it is. I really love the interface and everything. When you click on the link, it will take you to the main page which will feature my top recommendations. I plan to update it to include recommendations for kids, teens, toddlers etc.

To see what I'm currently reading, look on the sidebar to the right. Click in the link under "browse by category" on 2007 Reading List (or click this link). The front page will be the books I am currently working through. On the sidebar under the 2007 Reading List, there are subcategories of fiction, non-fiction, and home, family and me (which is also non-fiction, but in the parenting, marriage, and self-development genres). Some of them include notes about why I have selected them. On the others, as I read them I will update them with a few lines of my thoughts.

The items on the sidebar, such as the Listmania lists, are generated by amazon, not my personal recommendations. However, I included them, because when I'm browsing amazon I often find new books I enjoy when a book I've selected is on someone's list along with other books that may be new to me.

I really love this new "toy," and hope to add many more categories and pages as they come to me or are asked of me. Any suggestions?

Also, as far as logistics go, if you do decide to purchase something, you can add the items directly into your cart. When you decide to check out, it takes you to your main amazon account and shopping cart, where you can add additional items, etc.

What a great idea! I will enjoy perusing your selections.

I saw "Margin" on your list. I think you will enjoy it--very interesting and thought-provoking.

It has been awhile since I have been here as I was gone for 10 days but I will definitely check out your books, etc...

Love your My Guy post as well. I have a lot of catching up to do but God Bless You in the New Year!

What a great idea, Jennifer. And the list you've already created is great. I've read some of the books you listed but some are calling to me. I'm particulary fascinated by the Birth Order book.

I swear, all you girls are getting me in big trouble here. My wish list is getting ridiculously long!

This is so organized. I didn't know you could do this with Amazon. I, too, am doing a 2007 reading list in my sidebar, mostly for my own benefit and to encourage me to read more. But this is way organized. Good job, Jennifer!

Very interesting idea. I think Amazon will take over the world. :)

I just signed up to be an amazon associate and have been toying with the idea of their new aStore for the same reasons you listed. You'll have to tell me what you think of it.

Love it! Great interface, like you said, and I love having a peek into what's on your nightstand and coming up on your to-read list.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I'm glad that y'all like it as much as I do.

Heather--it was really easy to create--much faster than individual links through the associates program.

And L.L.--I think that there could be worse things than amazon taking over the world. . . .

I'm SO EXCITED! I was completely serious, and I'm so glad you did this!

I'm off to check it out right now.
