A Tale of Two Shoes

"Kyle, you need to get your shoes on so we can go to Bible study. You'll get to see your friends. Let's go."

"I wear these shoes," he argued.

"No, Kyle, you can't wear your basketball slippers. Those are inside shoes. You need to wear your sandals to church."

"But it might be funny," he explained.

Yes, funny. Do you see what I'm dealing with here?

I didn't post any Mother's Day pictures, but I'll do so now to help underscore my point (and yes, I know it was 2 weeks ago, but remember, I'm still playing catch up). Look at his face!

FYI, my little icon picture is from Mother's Day last year. We've all changed. I do not like my hair in these pictures. After we ate (a very nice lunch at a local inn that Terry arranged all on his own, a week in advance with NO prompting at all), Terry took some more pictures outside at my request. For some reason, Amanda looked really grumpy in all of the pictures except this one, and both of us are having some weird wind/ hair issues here. You can click on any of them and view them bigger.

Your pictures turned out great! I LOVE your hair! It's always the first thing I notice on other people but thats because I have my own love/hate relationship with mine :)

These pictures remind me that I need to take more of me with the kids, seems I'm always the one taking the picture.

I think your hair looks cute. And you're right, Kyle's expression says it all.

I'm not ever going to see your header again without remembering that I thought those were bolts of cloth. LOL What a dummy!

Boy, I can tell by those first two photos, you have your hands full. He looks like an adorable little imp. I love his new gel look by the way.

It's nice to see this current photo of you. I don't see any wind problems - you all look great!

Hey mom didn't anyone ever tell you that SHOES? are details. My two are now teens and in high school. The shoe thing changes in items as they grow older. Just keep reminding yourself--These are just those little pesky details.

Great pics :)

I clicked on the pictures... viewed them bigger... and you are beautiful!

As for the basketball slippers at church, well, all I can say is, this past weekend I finally gave in to flip-flops at church (the kids, not me!) and I was so glad I did because almost all the kids were wearing them. I guess now that school's out, they're just in summer mode. Of course, our pastor wears jeans and sandals, it's just that kind of church.

The pics are so beautiful. And it's a lovely idea taking photos on mother's day - so far I never thought of that.

I think your hair looks nice in those pictures! How smart of you guys to take pictures on Mother's Day - good idea. And your son has just the cutest little face! Your daughter looks like a very sweet girl!

He is adorable! I could almost picture him trying to convince you that those slippers would be a hit at bible study!

What great pictures! I used to have the hardest time getting my 3 1/2 year old to take off her Hello Kitty slippers. She wanted to wear them everywhere. We worked out a compromise. She could wear them in the car. Then once we get to our destination, she had to wear her regular shoes. This way, she feels like she has a little win. :-)
