I've never been whale watching before.

One of my sils once gave us enough airplane tickets (from frequent flier miles) that our whole family could fly to southern California for a visit (we had four children at the time--two of whom were still free). We went in July and the it was kind of cold at the beach. We were so surprised. I think it was low 70s and gusty almost the entire time we were there. I'm used to being cold in New Jersey at the beach, but Southern California?Jeanninehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06704507404219157309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24945617.post-1155226492621319102006-08-10T12:14:00.000-04:002006-08-10T12:14:00.000-04:00Looks like you're having so much fun - the whales ...Looks like you're having so much fun - the whales are incredible! Mine would be going over the edge. Now I KNOW he's a wild man. As for the sand, we had water socks for all the kids because of the rocks in the lake, so ours didn't really experience the sand. It probably helped. At VBS, he had to do a handprint in paint and it sent him over the edge. He also screams when he sees playdoh. Oh, here's a thought -- maybe Kyle only likes colored sand that belongs to his sister. :o)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24945617.post-1155037901822570522006-08-08T07:51:00.000-04:002006-08-08T07:51:00.000-04:00We're in Cape Cod (which, by the way, for you non-...We're in Cape Cod (which, by the way, for you non-Northeasteners, is not ritzy. That's what it conjured up for me, but it's just like any other beach town). The tour came from Hyannis. The guide said that this was one of the best ones this year, and this year has been really great for all the whales.

And Heather, you made me chuckle. Jonah got to see whales, too. . . .Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03789250398792504412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24945617.post-1155018453038083632006-08-08T02:27:00.000-04:002006-08-08T02:27:00.000-04:00I'm jealous! The only picture I have that is anything close to those wonderful whale shots is a blurry something that if you look closely, you can just make out two fins from the choppy water (it may take a bit of imagination).Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11470283761189392205noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24945617.post-1155007684118488552006-08-07T23:28:00.000-04:002006-08-07T23:28:00.000-04:00The beach vacation sounds wonderful! When my little guy was 2, he ran into the water at the beach, got his feet wet - and that traumatized him so much that he was scared of his bath for months afterwards. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY!Beckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13953517447164263617noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24945617.post-1154999104446610572006-08-07T21:05:00.000-04:002006-08-07T21:05:00.000-04:00This was great - thanks for the update! And I have to say - she is looking so grown up in the pictures (our kids are growing up too fast! does that mean we're getting old, too?). We went to Cancun when Camden was just over 2 yrs and he hated the sand with a passion. I ended up buying him a super-cheap pair of sandals that he could wear all week, in the water or out, and he still wanted socks on under them so the sand would not touch his feet!

The whale watching sounds great; I'd love to do that sometime.

Oh, and you look great, too. It will be a long time until I'm ready to appear in a swimsuit again!Katrina @ Callapidder Dayshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06502432103160398620noreply@blogger.com
